Bill Pelfrey Jr. was born in Floyd County and moved to Brunswick when he was 10 years old and graduated from Glynn Academy in 1969. He moved back to Rome after attending college at Georgia Southern University and earning his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in 1974. He and his wife Teresa have been married for 50+ years and have two children and three grandchildren who are absolutely WONDERFUL! He is a 25+ year member and Past Master of Shannon Lodge 100.

Bill spent over 40 years with World Hi-Fi, the family business which many residents of the community used as the “go-to” source for all things electronic, which later expanded into home furnishings and decor. While operating the business Bill earned the Small Business of the Year Award from the Rome/Floyd Chamber of Commerce. – No small achievement!
Bill is a member of the Rome Floyd Chamber and has been chairman of the Small Business Action Council and the Economic Development Council. He served on the Board of Directors for two terms.

 
Bill served as President and Treasurer for the Rome Braves Fan Club, whose function was to acclimate the players to their new home in Rome. The Fan Club also donated over $2,000 to local charities during his tenure as President. He was active with the Rome Braves Bat’s Board for four years which assisted the Rome Braves with marketing ideas to promote the team with the community.
